I hope you all enjoyed the pictures from the Mosaic Shelter. I definitely spent a lot of time in the shy kitty room. Those kitties need the most socializing, for a better chance at adoption. Charlie and Sinatra were adopted, but sent back because they weren’t outgoing enough. Lucky for Bella, who was left behind. Maybe someone will adopt the three of them together, because they definitely clung together.
All the cats I posted are up for adoption at the Mosaic Shelter in Ann Arbor Michigan, unless they are already adopted. There are a ton of cats I didn’t post, like Shorty, the brother of the Mama and Auntie. He is darling and could use a good home. He doesn’t mind being picked up and he is a little shadow, he will follow you wherever you go.
From what I could see the shelter needs better litter, and new bedding. The bedding that was out was covered in pee. I’m not sure if they have washing facilities there, so I know they could definitely do with some new bedding. The kitty with the nasal injury could use a new humidifier and a non dusty litter. She is a sweet sweet girl.
If I can manage leaving my apartment I definitely plan on returning to volunteer. :)
I have a kitty friend like that. Her name is Joy. The owners of the shelter where she stays say that since I’ve been visiting her she’s turned into a completely different cat. It’s amazing what the right chemistry can do.
It really is, but there are still times when an animal just needs patience and love. Sometimes it takes time.
This kitty was in the shy room because one day she’d be all over you and then the next she despises you. Luckily of me she was a sweety when I saw her. I find it hard to believe that she ever is distant. Several cats seemed to dislike the woman who gave me the tour. She was surprised when certain cats responded to me.
This poor gal was hit by a car, which resulted in a nasal injury, in which the surgery would do more harm than good. She was such a sweetheart! Walked right up to you and gave some love. There is a humidifier in the room, but it doesn’t help much. The room is dusty. She could use a new one. The shelter could also use some new blankets/bedding for the cats, and better litter.
This is Charlie’s beautiful sister Sinatra. She was a head rubber, but also a shy kitty.
